December 2006
Greetings
from Duncan,
We have come to the end of another year. All
the golf magazines will be focused on remembering
the Majors, the Ryder Cup, the domination by
a particular superstar and the hope for another
British breakthrough in the year ahead.
That’s all interesting (and another Spaniard
has just announced himself with a Tour victory,
on his first European Tour event since gaining
his card, at the Dunhill Championship) but actually
I’m interested in your year.
What’s important is how your game has progressed
and the enjoyment that you have gained from this
great game. That’s the beauty of golf – there
may be superstars – but it is the millions
of amateur golfers that play the game worldwide,
every week, that make this a great sport.
I hope that, as you have read these mails, I
have managed to get across some very important
messages. There may be millions of golfers but
your golf swing combined with your dimensions
and your athletic ability makes you as near unique
as is possible.
Laugh with each other next time you are in a
four ball on the Tee Box but look at how different
you all are as golf athletes.
The suppliers need to be congratulated because
they have recognised that fact and have tried
to offer you an increasingly broad range of products
that will offer different golfers, different
advantages.
Add to that the fact that most equipment can
be customised to fit individuals (there are over
900 variations on a Ping 5-iron when you look
at shaft type, length and strength, lie angle,
loft setting and grip size) and you can see that
for millions of golfers there are millions of
solutions.
I have tried to convey the fact that I am here
to help you make the perfect match to ensure
that you enjoy your golf even more.
Most importantly though, I am also Santa’s
helper. If there is a special gift that you would
like to give or even a special gift that you
would like to receive, I am here. Don’t
let the winter weather deter you. In fact the
beauty of our partnership is that you can mail
me or call me for advice, guidance or even to
check on price and whether a product is in our
store. There’s no need to fight the crowds.
Finally, let’s close the year with a big
thank you from me to you for your support through
2006 and please accept my best wishes to you
and your family for the New Year, and may it
contain even more fun on the golf course.
Our next newsletter will be landing in your in
box on the 11th January 2007.
Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Regards
Duncan
